@Ginale, I can't speak to this meeting in particular, but there is always the difficulty of scheduling meetings of hosing between dinner, bedtime, getting home from work. :{

(PSAC has been trying to navigate this for ages, and I don't think we have come up with an optimal time, yet)

Hi Ginale, yes, the live scan fee is one of the biggest barriers our families face in becoming volunteers. Some schools have started to set aside live scan vouchers.

@Ginale, some schools set aside money (through voting in the SSC) to use it for the fingerprinting.

the volunteer normally pays for the live scan, on this site you can find live scan locations in alameda county as low as $17 https://oag.ca.gov/fingerprints/locations?county=Alameda if a live scan is a financial burden for you email us letting us know and we may have scholarships available

TB Clarence is one of the biggest barriers for families coming from countries where TB is prevalent. It would be helpful if there was an option to waive this requirement. I understand this is a State requirement but it's a good opportunity to lead the way on addressing this requirement that disadvantages a particular group of families.

Training is no longer required for volunteers. General training is available via Oakland Ed Fund..

I am having problems with my microphone, but I have questions about security entering and being on campus. I have walked in late with my daughter and not had to show ID or an sign in, and was able to walk anywhere on campus. Can we require ID and maybe hold on to it while person is on campus?

I think it is important to emphasize here and at each school site that families can still be volunteers, they just need to know the difference between supervised and unsupervised volunteering.
